Outfly and Outfight Your Opponents

“Speed is life? Sure, until you take a missile up your exhaust port. Speed’s no good if you don’t have maneuverability, and the brains to use both.”
-Patricia “Duellist” Brannigan

“People say a good pilot can get through an engagement without a scratch. That might be true, but sooner or later someone shooting at you is going to get lucky. Me? I’ll take as much armor and firepower as you can give me, any day.”
-Calum “Reaver” Kintasa

Frenetic Combat Amongst the Stars

Red Shirts Smash is the latest release in the D12 System line, and is a very different game than its predecessors. Designed for quick and exciting matches at conventions or among large groups of friends, Red Shirts Smash can be played by up to a dozen people at a time. Instead of controlling a squad of grizzled soldiers or bloodthirsty gladiators, each player controls a single space fighter as they try to outmaneuver their opponents in a chaotic dogfight.

Red Shirt Smash is played on a hexagonal grid instead of the 3-inch square grid used by most D12 System games, allowing players to quickly and easily track their ship’s movement and facing. When play begins, each player is randomly assigned one Tier 1 ship and a starting zone. Their objective is to cause enough damage to enemy ships to make themselves eligible for promotion, then exit the board by the starting zone opposite theirs. A player who accomplishes their objective returns to play the next turn in a ship of the next higher Tier. Never fear if your own ship is destroyed, as you return in a ship of the same Tier as the one you just lost. Once a Tier 3 ship causes enough damage and exits the table, that player is the winner.

Now, put on your helmet and get out there. The stars are calling!
